Master Numbers and Their Effects on Your Numerology Reading

In a typical numerology reading, you will need to assign numerical values to each part of your birth date or name, add up these values, and reduce the resulting sums into a single digit.

Here’s an example. Let’s say you want to perform a numerology reading to get your Life Path Number. To do so, you’ll first need to convert your full birth date into a short date format (mm/dd/yyyy). For example, a person born on October 19, 1990 would have a birth date of 10/19/1990. You’ll then need to reduce the values for the month, date, and year by adding each component number until you get a single digit. In our example, the reduced value for the month would be 1 since 1 + 0 = 1. The reduced value for the day would also be 1 since 1 + 9 = 10 and 1 + 0 = 1. The reduced value for the year would also be 1 since 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, 1 +  9 = 10, and finally 1 + 0 = 1. Finally, you’ll need to add the resulting values for the month, date, and year to get your Life Path Number. In our example, the Life Path Number would be 3 since 1 + 1 + 1 = 3.

However, despite its simplicity, there is one very important rule to remember when performing a numerology reading: do not reduce Master Numbers.

The Three Master Numbers

The Master Numbers are 11, 22, and 33. Despite what other numerologists might say, other repeating numbers like 44, 55, and 66 are not Master Numbers. Unlike other repeating numbers, Master Numbers have a higher energy potential and stronger effects on one’s life. Considering this, having a Master Number in your numerology reading is not always a good thing. It simply means that there are strong forces at work in your life.

Master Number 11 represents “vision.” It is a number for dreamers and psychics. It is a link to your subconscious and intuition. However, when not focused on a goal, all its energy can potentially turn inward and create irrational fears.

On the other hand, Master Number 22 represents “vision with action.” It has all the intuitive energy of Master Number 11 but combines it with the practical and methodical thought. However, like Master Number 11, it also needs a goal to focus on lest its energies turn self-destructive.

Lastly, Master Number 33 represents “guidance.” It has the potential to enhance the abilities of the other Master Numbers. However, what makes Master Number 33 different from the other two is its selfless nature. Instead of focusing on personal goals, Master Number 33 sincerely devotes itself to the betterment of humanity.

Numerology Reading with a Master Number

When you encounter a Master Number in your numerology reading, you should not reduce it until the final computation. For example, if you were born on November 1, 1975, the short date format would be 11/1/1975. The month is already Master Number 11, so there is no need to reduce that. The day is already a single digit, so there’s no need to reduce that. Finally, the year is Master Number 22 since 1 + 9 + 7 + 5 = 22. When you add these three numbers, you’ll get 34 (11 + 1 + 22 = 34), which can be further reduced to your Life Path Number of 7 (3 + 4 =7).
